The Culinary Arts program is non-residential. However, there are many accommodation options for students studying at Le Cordon Bleu such as International Student Residences, private rental, homestay and/or share accommodation

Homestay Accommodation

Many international students find that the best accommodation on arrival to Australia is a 4 week stay in one of our preferred homestay providers. One of the benefits is that transportation from the airport can be arranged. There is no obligation for a student to stay on past the 4 weeks

Airport transfers can be arranged from the Sydney airport to your accommodation if you decide to stay with one our recommended homestay providers below.

By using this service, a student can receive all the help they require with access to local banking and transport facilities. This gives students an introduction to Australian food and local customs.

The weekly fee including meals and single private room in an area nearby campus is around $220 per week. During this period students can look for more permanent rental accommodation, hostels or perhaps even stay with their homestay if they want to.

If parents or relatives are coming to visit, it may be best for them to stay in a hotel near your accommodation.

A short 15 minute walk from a bus stop for the 501 bus that travels directly to the Ryde campus. Easy access to Chinatown (5 minutes by bus)
Single rooms including breakfast $220-240 per week. - unlimited internet $10 per week.
Most students are international university students from the University of NSW or the University of Sydney.

Unilodge - An international student hostel based in the city

If you are studying English at Billy Blue English College before Le Cordon Bleu, there is a hostel near the college in North Sydney.

 

Boarding houses (budget accomodation)

Private Accommodation in Sydney

Useful web sites which will help you look for your own rented accommodation in Sydney are:

• Gumtree.com.au: A number of students have found rooms for rent in the Ryde area through gumtree.com.au. However we must advise that we take no responsibility for any accommodation arrangements and it is often best to have yourself and/or a friend to inspect the accommodation and meet the people before agreeing to rent the particular property.
• realestate.com.au (share accommodation) -please do not commit to share with anyone until you arrive in Sydney. It is advised that you meet the people and inspect the accommodation

Important points to note:

• Fully furnished Units/house/apartments/flat are not common in Sydney.
• If you are looking at renting a 2 bedroom Unit/flat/apartment the rent per week is approximately AUD $240 to AUD $280 (depending on the location, condition of the property and etc).
• If you are searching for a property somewhere close to the Le Cordon Bleu Campus, you should look for area such as Ryde, West Ryde , Denistone, Marsfield, Meadowbank, Putney
• We recommend that you try to look in areas that provide main transportation services – such as train station, bus stops and access to main roads. check the web at http://www.131500.com.au/
• You will find that a “Sydney, NSW Street Directory” would be very useful for information and descriptions of area in Sydney (You can get a directory from any news agency or book shop) or use http://www.maps.google.com
