Le Cordon Bleu Australia’s very own Chef Karen Doyle was recently interviewed by "Hospitality" magazine for her win in the 2007 Sydney Culinary Challenge. Her team that consisted of Karen, colleague Deborah Whitebread and then apprentice Emma Aboud, won one of the most highly contested competitions, the Foodservices Kitchen Restaurant Challenge. They received $10,000 prize money and a gold medal for their menu comprising of an entrée and main – a trilogy of salmon with cream cheese, and brioche crusted rabbit. Le Cordon Bleu Australia is very proud of Karen’s achievements and we send our congratulations to her again on this high profile recognition.

Noel La’O
Winner of International Scholarship for Le Cordon Bleu Australia

Le Cordon Bleu Marketing Manager for the Philippines, Karen DuBois, is delighted to announce that the International Scholarship for the Philippines valued at AUD $10,000 was awarded to Noel La'O. Noel who attended the International school in Manila demonstrated not only excellence in academic ability, but a heartfelt passion to pursue a career in Hospitality Management, with a preference for Food and Beverage studies. Upon completion of his studies in Adelaide, Noel would like to study the Le Cordon Bleu Diplome de Cuisine at the Sydney Culinary Arts Institute and learn "everything there is to know about food and its preparation". We wish Noel every success in his Le Cordon Bleu Management and Culinary journey.

Passion. Ambition. Butter. Do You Have What It Takes?

Le Cordon Bleu is very proud to be associated with the soon to be released movie Julie and Julia. The movie, staring Meryl Streep and Amy Adams, is based on the true story of Julia Child’s start in the cooking profession with Le Cordon Bleu in France intertwined with blogger Julie Powell’s 2002 challenge to cook all the recipes in Julia Child’s first book.

The movie commences throughout Australia on Thursday, 8th October and is a must see for all fans of our industry.

New Graduate & Winner of Dux Award

Le Cordon Bleu Australia would like to congratulate Natalie Potter for becoming our first management graduate in Adelaide to have completed her Bachelor of Restaurant & Catering degree and Bachelor of Hotel & Resort Management degree within three years. This in itself is a commendable achievement, and yet Natalie also received a Meritorious and Dux award for academic excellence. We wish her every success in what is sure to be an eventful future.

July 2009

The Sydney Graduation held at the Amora Jamison on Wednesday 22nd of July was a significant night for students, who were elated by their efforts to successfully complete their programs in patisserie and cuisine.

Representatives from our partner institutions, industry guests and Le Cordon Bleu staff joined graduating students as they received their Le Cordon Bleu parchments and medals. We congratulate our graduates for becoming part of a culinary tradition of excellence.

Adelaide Course Commencement Ceremony
Upcoming Event

This formal event will be held on September 18th at the Holiday Inn to welcome all new students to Le Cordon Bleu Adelaide and give them the opportunity to interact with fellow students and Le Cordon Bleu staff.

A number of awards will be given away on the night to acknowledge students achievements for meeting academic requirements, accomplishing merits in their studies and making outstanding contributions during their Professional Industry Placement.

During her recent visit to Adelaide, Le Cordon Bleu Marketing Manager Lydia Kurniawan, who is based in Jakarta, caught up with some of our Indonesian students for dinner. The group went to Taste of Spice on Gouger Street to enjoy some good food and each others company.
